Why we do it
Women In Automotive’s® (WIA) security philosophy is simple; Privacy and security must protect our website users while taking care of business goals. We focus on security to:
• Protect Data. In today’s information-based age, WIA recognizes the importance of data and its protection. We ensure the data we store is secure in all its forms and follow proper guidelines to do so.
• Data protection is Everyone’s Responsibility. Staff, members and industry use, transmit, file, dispose, and create information and data. Correct handling of that information is important to the success of our information and data security practices. All users’ actions or failures to act in some instances can result in exposing the organization to risk and theft.®
How we do it
WIA carefully chooses reputable contractors to host and support its platform(s). These contractors have regularly planned security protocols, especially for hosting services and the contractors have security standards and safeguards in place.
The use of WIA’s platform would not be possible without collecting information concerning the use of the service, which includes personal information. Personal information is collected, stored, and processed per applicable laws and only to the extent necessary for providing the services we offer. Statistic information can be collected and used by the service provider or its hosting contractor. The collected information is not transferred or sold without permission.
The technical setup, services provider’s data processing rules, and code of conduct for providing services enable a high level of information protection. However, it is necessary to have some people who can gain access to data and information in the systems. Persons with access to data are aware of the confidential nature of data. Any personal information collected by WIA is collected and used per governing states and laws.
Third Party Disclosure: WIA may use third-party components or services as part of its platform(s). WIA may share some information and traffic with a third party as part of this service. However, it will never contain identifying information without explicit consent. WIA does not rent, sell, or lease personal information to other companies or individuals.
