Elgie Bright is the Automotive Department Chair at Northwood University. His teaching responsibilities include Dealership Variable and Fixed operations, Business Management, and Automotive Industry issues. Prior to joining Northwood, he was employed by General Motors for over 20 years in a variety of field sales, service, and marketing positions in several markets across the United States. Elgie also has retail automotive management experience with 8 years at Art Moran Pontiac-GMC, Mitsubishi in the Detroit Market.

Elgie’s greatest strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand an organizations vision and mission.

Elgie currently serves on volunteer boards with the Friends of the Sloan Museum in Flint, Michigan, the Automotive Hall of Fame, and the Flushing Michigan Community Foundation.

Elgie holds a bachelor’s degree from Adrian College and an MBA from Northwood University. He is the Father of 3 Adult daughters and lives in Flushing, MI with his wife, and a hyper Pit Bull mix Terrier. In his free time, Elgie likes jazz, blues, and sports activities.
