Fred Beans group instills processes such as customer loyalty program in acquisitions
n November of 2018, McCafferty Ford, Kia and Hyundai became Fred Beans Ford, Kia and Hyundai of Langhorne. The Fred Beans Family of Dealerships invested in the dealerships in Pennsylvania in 1999 and became full owners in 2018.
It waited to put the Fred Beans name on the new acquisitions until they were operating fully according to the Fred Beans standards and processes, say Beth Beans Gilbert. Another element also factored in – the McCafferty employees.
“We had to do it in a way that was graceful for them,” she tells Automotive Buy Sell Report.
Beans Gilbert, daughter of Fred Beans, founder of the Fred Beans Family of Dealerships, says she spent a year and a half putting the processes her family’s dealership group operates by into the McCafferty stores.
Now, the entire group operates under one name. Beans Gilbert hopes to get some breathing space before acquiring more franchises.
“I want to grow the locations we have,” she says. “Some of the locations are weak.”
