Role Summary

This position will enhance the AIR office capabilities for trend analysis, market research, and design research, including service design. The position will establish Audi’s brand presence in Silicon Valley, the Bay Area, and other relevant hot spots of the US, and will develop trend scouting activities in collaboration with external partners. The position will enlarge the various network activities on the US market to establish new methods of generating innovations in the area of service design and organize workshops to cultivate ideas. The position also will leverage the strategic network with Audi of America, Audi AG, Electronics Research Lab and Future Center, develop new business models concerning data business and digitalization, and conduct outreach to potential business partners. Together with the rest of the AIR office, the position will support Audi initiatives and foster the implementation of concepts in US cities.

Responsibilities:

Role Responsibilities   Main responsibility – 85% of time spent
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing user research studies including their analysis and validation to reach the optimal solution
  • Developing business model innovations and strategies
  • Developing prototypes including Agile execution, and validating those prototypes
  • Creating concepts of the customer experience and customer journey
  • Creating user stories and wireframes, and planning of sprints, tracking, and release
  • Building a network with Bay Area based companies and innovative people (through personal contacts, university cooperation, connecting on fairs, social media activities)
  • Scouting for innovations in and for the US market (consumer surveys, visiting meet ups and conferences, creating reports out of insights in relation to the special needs of Audi)
  • Definition and clarification of questions from current projects (Data related business models and cases, prototype ability, feasibility)
  • Planning and roll out of various workshops with opinion leaders from various working fields (e.g. concept development and implementation of AIR meet ups, creating a Audi format within Bay Area) based on creative problem-solving methods
  • Providing ongoing product updates and development based on customer feedback
  • Leading product presentations to stakeholders and third parties
Additional responsibilities – 15% of time
  • Planning and arranging of the budget
  • Expanding the connection to Audi AG and AIR Beijing (Workshops, meetings, common projects)

Educational requirements:

Required Education

  • Master’s Degree (MBA, Economics, Applied Statistics, Engineering, Service Design, and/or Media/Communications)

Experience requirements:

Experience 3-5 years of general work experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in design thinking and strategy
  • 1-3 years of experience in trend and innovation research
  • 1-3 years of experience in automotive industry
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales and marketing
  • 1-3 years of experience in bay area located businesses
  • 1-3 years of experience in project management
  • 1-3 years of experience in business model development
  • 1-3 years of experience in data business and digitalization
