The successful candidate will join the growing team of Electrify America, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group of America leading the implementation of the $2B Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Investment Plan. Electrify America is tasked with creating and facilitating a highly visible, reliable, interoperable and driver-oriented Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure network to support the increased adoption of Electric Vehicles in California and the rest of the United States. It will create the “Gas Stations of the Future” by investing in a range of current and future charging technologies that will provide ubiquitous access to EV drivers along highways, in metro areas, at multi-unit dwells, at workplaces and in ridesharing programs. Electrify America will also invest in initiatives to increase the awareness and education of driving electric and will support a number of strategic ‘Green Cities’ programs in California. Through its programs, Electrify America’s investment will enable millions of Americans to discover the benefits of driving electric.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Electrify America team towards local stakeholders (politics, authorities, communities, businesses)
  • Responsible for continuous contact with the mayor and transportation officials regarding Green City operations and development
  • Ensuring achievement for Green City operations, development and financial performance
  • Ensuring availability of all necessary decisions
  • Responsible for fulfillment of settlement requirements e.g. creditable cost documentation
  • Manage allocated budget and comply with Electrify America’s policies and procedures regarding budget allocation.
  • Coordinate with COO and CEO in preparation plan submission to CARB and EPA as well Audit reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring official support from city and state
  • Business strategy and implementation of Green City strategy
  • Develop and manage the project master schedule and track KPIs for all Green City activities
  • Strategic leadership and day-to-day responsibility for decisions
  • Evaluate industry trends, develop implications and recommending strategies as well as identify new business opportunities
  • Manage assigned staff on all Green City objectives.
  • Developing and presenting project reports at CEO and Board level

Educational requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline

Experience requirements:

  • 10-12 years of experience
  • Extensive experience in working in transportation or technology company
  • Knowledge & understanding of overall automotive, transportation and EV Industry
  • Extensive experience in taking responsibility for and managing high budgets and staff
  • Extensive experience with multimillion $ transportation project
  • Strong financial knowledge
  • Experience in negotiation with public officials
  • Technical knowledge
